It was a massive weekend at Dunsfold Aerodrome for Wings & Wheels, where the truck took pride of place in the centre of the Central Arena for the whole 2 days. Over 40,000 people attended the event, and it feels like I must have spoken to at least 10,000 of them during the course of the weekend. It was a great weekend and a really good crowd of people who lined up to see inside the truck and ask questions all about it.
The other event which slotted in the middle on Saturday evening was Aslan Steel's Extreme Hold challenge. After travelling along the south coast during the day performing various extreme gymnastics holds on extreme machines he and his crew, accompanied by the McLaren and their team, arrived around 5pm to successfully undertake the finale to his charity raising.
Highlights for me personally were seeing Red Arrows display overhead, the Breitling Wing Walkers, the once in a lifetime experience of seeing the only two remaining Lancaster bombers put on a display and the phenomenal sound of the massive Vulcan flying overhead. The Chinook display was also something that had to be seen to be believed!
To see some more of the great pictures (taken by photographer Michael McGrath) just go to the Gallery.
